It’s finished! My bedroom door is now fully covered with this beautiful tree. I had the most fun creating this huge piece of art and it has taught me a number of things.

Working on this piece has once again reminded me that beautiful things take time!
So often in this world, we expect things to be ready in no time. instant ready meals, next-day delivery, fast fashion. The list goes on. We want it cheap and we want it fast. But as we all know. If you want it Cheap and fast it often won’t be good. Do you think Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel in a day? A week? A month? Hah no! Some pieces take months, years, a lifetime even to finish. And that I find beautiful!

This piece took me around 6 full working days spread over 2,5 weeks to finish. I heard someone gasp when I told this. Which I find very weird actually. This piece has reminded me to slow down and feel pride and joy in a slow and precise process. Murals like this much like other processes in life take time! Beautiful things take time! Own it, feel it, slow down. There is no rush.
